Researchers looking for custom aquatic life support systems for research simply need stable, well-built and reliable systems that are easy to maintain and deliver the data they need. However, finding someone with the experience, scientific acumen and skills to build such a system is anything but simple. Larger companies that offer aquatic research systems are inflexible and expensive. They offer turnkey template systems that may or may not produce the results researchers need while consuming a sizable portion of their budget. Since time is one of many resources that PIs have to monitor closely, they often spend more than they would prefer on these systems just to get their project up and running only to discover later that this system less than ideal for their work.
